Famous Photographer Group PowerPoint
For this assignment you will be asked to study a famous photographer’s
work, and then create a PowerPoint on their style and techniques for
photography. You will be working with a classmate on this project, no more than
two students per group.
This assignment
is worth 50 points.
Select a
photographer from the website:
http://www.masters-of-photography.com/
Spend some time looking through their work; find one that
interests you and your partner.
You must
approve your photographer with Mrs. Shaum before starting your Power Point, two
groups cannot use the same photographer so if someone has already selected the
one you want, you will have to choose a different photographer.
Please format your
PowerPoint in the following manner:
Slide 1: Photographers name,
your names and date
Slide 2 & 3: Introduce your
photographer, giving information on the person’s background. Include
information like: when they were born and died, what type of equipment they
used, where they went to school or learned about photo, other artists who may
have inspired them, awards or special honors.
Slides 4-7: Choose four
photographs from the photographer you picked that are creative and interesting.
Make sure you describe the photos and how the photographer worked with the
subject(s) to make a creative and interesting photo—be very specific! Also
include any type of composition, lighting and camera techniques that you see in
this photographer’s work. Include
titles & years for the examples, you will need to look up the title of the
work and write it down when you are researching.
Slide 8: Use this paragraph to
describe how you are inspired by the photographer’s work and how you will use
the ideas you have learned to influence your own work for future photo
assignments. You will be taking your own photos using what you learned from
your photographer so make sure it makes sense.
Slide 9-12: Each person in your
group will take 4 photos using your photographer as inspiration. Put 2 images
on each slide labeled with your name and title your photograph.
Save your work to your student
drive. Make sure you save as you go so your work is not lost. When you are done
with the PowerPoint, check it off with Mrs. Shaum. You will be presenting this to the class.
